CAMPANIA1 The Camorristic phenomenon in Campania is manifested in various forms because of the geographical contexts in which it originated and evolved.

The provinces of Naples and Caserta remain the territories with the highest and qualified criminal density, where there is the presence of large camoristic signs (ALLEANZA DI SECONDIGLIANO, MAZZARELLA and CASALESI) or of more structured mafia organizations, whose illicit interests also concern sectors of the legal economy and which in many cases have evolved into real "mafia enterprises".

These organisations have also highlighted a high capacity to permeate local administrations by altering decision-making processes in order to increase illicit profits and social consensus, practices that also in the semester considered have led to the dissolution of some local councils2 for mafia infiltration ex art.

143 TUEL. Alongside them and in their sphere of influence, in an instrumental and functional position, there are minor criminal groups whose illicit interests concern more traditional sectors such as narcotics, extortion and usury.

For the purposes of the analysis of the mafia phenomena affecting these geographical areas, in particular Naples and the province, it was deemed appropriate to share the territory in homogeneous contexts for criminal phenomena.

Analogue approach has been adopted for the Province of Salerno which has been divided into four homogeneous geo-criminal contexts, characterized by the presence of camoristic groups with strong familial connotation as well as by the interference, because of the territorial contiguity with the Maltese environments of the provinces of Naples, Caserta and the neighboring Calabria, of historical mafiosi sodalizi coming from such zones Business.

The geographical context of Campania is completed, finally, with the provinces of Benevento and Avellino, also characterized by the presence of chamoristic organizations with strong familial connotation, mainly devoted to the spread of drugs and to the extortion in damage of local businesses and commercial activities.

Below will be analyzed the aforementioned criminal phenomena, distinguished by a single province.

The extreme fragmentation of the criminal reality bell involves the graphic representation of the only main components, whose positioning on map is to be considered merely indicative.

At the time of the drafting of this Report, the Municipalities of Villaricca (NA), Castellammare di Stabia (NA), Torre Annunziata (NA), San Giuseppe Vesuviano (NA), Caivano and Sparanise (CE).

In the Municipality of Melito di Naples the Prefect of the Campania capital the 9 maggio 2023 has appointed a commission of investigation to verify the existence of elements of mafia conditioning.

Also in the Municipalities of Fifteen (AV) and Monteforte Irpino (AV) the 16 maggio 2023 the Prefect of Avellino has proceeded similarly.
