Chinese crime Chinese consorteries in Italy are structured according to essentially hierarchical modes, focusing mainly on family and solidarity relations. These organizations are characterized by strong waterproofness that makes them impenetrable to external contaminations or collaborations.

Rarely, functional agreements with Italian criminal organizations or the establishment of multiethnic consortia are found.

Chinese crime is dedicated to the commission of extortion and kidnappings almost exclusively in damages of their own countrymen, the exploitation of prostitution, the consummation of financial offences and the detention and the release of methamphetamine, treated almost in regime of monopoly by Chinese pushers.

This peculiar form of criminal conduct, which is essentially within the Chinese community, is exercised in a silent form, without giving rise to clamorous manifestations.

For this specific connotation, the Chinese can be considered a form of ethnic crime very insidious, being extremely difficult to repress even because of the waterproofness towards the outside, the extreme mobility in the territory of criminal subjects and the difficulties in finding reliable interpreters of the many idioms with which the affiliates express themselves.

Some regions80 are home to particularly active Chinese settlements that, alongside the management of traditional restaurants, are also engaged in the management of numerous and diverse business activities integrated in the local production context.

Chinese matrix crime is then very active in the counterfeit trade. In this regard, the same confirms a primary role in many economic activities, especially in the most important industrial districts of the textile and clothing industry.

The most common forms of illegality, in addition to the production and marketing of counterfeit goods or not in accordance with Community law, also concern the additional aspects connected with the tax evasion and contribution perpetrated through the constitution of c.d. "open and close."

Other areas of interest are the support of illegal immigration and the exploitation of irregular labour, while illegal activities outside are involved in the illegal trafficking of waste, in the management of clandestine games and bets and in the lucrous management of massage centers, typical coverage activity.
